EuroTeQ is building seamless individual learning pathways for engineers, ready for the future
EuroTeQ consists of six leading universities of technology and two high level business schools. Each partner is situated in innovation eco-systems. We place great emphasis on learning pathways to bring business and technology closer together and to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among future engineers and managers in Europe. We have integrated high level Business Schools into our alliance not only to generate excellent technological ideas, but also to support retaining innovation within Europe and successfully transferring these ideas to the European market.
We interpret the initiative’s goals: ‘joint curricula” in view of “shared education, teaching and learning”, for the benefit of “the quality, international competitiveness and attractiveness of the European Higher Education landscape” twofold:
- By focusing on quick, innovative and competitive individual learning pathways. For most partners, elective modules in existing curricula serve as a primary mechanism for the recognition and integration of new and partners' learning elements. This approach makes it possible to educate in a talent-oriented way a more diversified and adaptable student cohort. We use integrative frameworks (e.g., Course Catalogue, Collider process, teachers' schools) to strengthen individual learning pathways.
- By the creation of genuinely joint educational offerings, developed collaboratively by teachers from different partner institutions and by involving industry partners. Examples include co-designed joint courses, the jointly organized EuroTeQathon, and jointly developed didactical formats within the Teacher School.

Through our EuroTeQ Course Catalogue, we have fundamentally changed the way we perceive mobility. Within 5 years of EuroTeQ’s existence, we have established course mobility in addition to classical semester mobility. EuroTeQ enables students to take part in diversified learning opportunities beyond borders, seamlessly and with greater flexibility than ever before. Our EuroTeQ Course Catalogue is a jointly enabled digital infrastructure, built with a Dutch IT application developed with SURF and the Dutch EWUU alliance. It has overcome differences in the partners’ IT-systems and facilitates upscaling mobility. Since 2023, we pull automated data from virtual/hybrid/blended courses (BSc-MSc-PhD level) from partners’ local campus management systems, allow for seamless enrollment since 2025, and implement automated grade transfer by 2027. We use the highest standards for privacy by design and other alliances are testing our way of working. It has the power to become a European role model.
