Martin Nieuwenhuizen

Maths was the favourite subject of Martin Nieuwenhuizen (b. 1967) in primary school, so it’s no surprise that he would go on to study econometrics. His knack for databases and penchant for numbers and large amounts of data led him to become a data analyst, first working at the Dutch Renal Registry (Registratie Nierfunctievervanging Nederland), then heading to Erasmus University and finally joining the Universiteiten van Nederland.

Martin processes the Universiteiten van Nederland its figures on students, staff and research, checking them for accuracy and monitoring unexpected shifts. He also analyses the results and is responsible for making the figures and the results generally accessible.
