Mechteld Visser
Mechteld Visser works at Universities of the Netherlands as a policy advisor. Within the Governance & Accountability domain, she focuses on university rankings and knowledge security policy within Dutch universities. In addition, as a member of the Education team, she works on issues relating to student selection and language policy within universities. In her role, she works together with policy officers within Dutch universities and coordinates with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sciences, as well as other (inter)national partners.
Mechteld completed a BA in International Studies, an MSc in Public Administration and an MA in History at Leiden University. She also worked at the Administrative Office of Leiden University, where she focused on the implementation of the educational vision. During her studies, she worked on a consultancy project for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and completed internships at the political section of the Dutch embassy in Washington, D.C., and at EuroClio, the European Association of History Educators.
