On Thursday, 21 October 2021, the National Alumni Survey was launched. The survey asks Master’s graduates how well their degree has prepared them for the labour market. All alumni who graduated with a Master’s degree from a Dutch university in the period from September 2019 to October 2020 have received an invitation to complete this online survey. This adds up to a total of 45,000 alumni.

The results will offer insight into the position of recent graduates on the labour market: do they feel they can properly apply their knowledge and skills? Has their Master’s degree properly prepared them for the labour market? Is their current job a good fit with their degree? In addition, the alumni will be asked to provide more quantitative information, such as their number of working hours and salary level. Based on this information, universities hope to be able to improve the alignment of their Master’s degrees to the labour market.

The survey has been conducted on behalf of the universities under the auspices of the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) every two years since 2009. In 2021, the survey is being conducted by Centerdata and IVA Onderwijs.

Alumni who did not receive a login code or lost their code can participate in the survey using an alternative login through the website www.nae2021.nl. The survey can be completed until the end of December 2021.

NB: the Open University does not participate in this survey because it has a different educational model.
