Funding of universities
The universities are funded by the government, the NWO, the business sector and the EU. They also receive tuition fees from students.
Student loan system
The introduction of the student loan system will make resources available for investment in improving education quality.
Tuition fees, the Profiling Fund and supplementary tuition fees
Students pay tuition fees. The amount due depends on a number of conditions. In some cases, the universities can ask for supplementary fees. Students can obtain financial support from the Profiling Fund.
Decline in funding per student
More and more students are enrolling at university, while government funding is not following the same trend.
